A private tour of the Temples of Humankind is not a luxury option — it is a different kind of encounter. When there is only you and your guide, the temples reveal themselves differently.
Standard guided tours are excellent. Private tours are something else entirely. Here is what changes when the group is only you.
Stand for twenty minutes in the Hall of Mirrors if you wish. Skip past a hall that doesn't call to you. The itinerary bends to your presence, not the other way around.
With no need to manage a group's diverging interests, your guide can follow your questions into territory that shared tours cannot reach. Ask what you actually want to know.
Architecture? Sacred geometry? The community's history? Spiritual practice? Your guide designs the tour around your interests before you arrive. Nothing is one-size-fits-all.
Private tours are led by the most experienced guides — community members with 10–20+ years of knowledge. Their depth of access to the stories, symbols, and construction history of the temples is unmatched.
Add the Sacred Woods spontaneously. Stay for lunch. Request a meeting with an artisan. Private tours create space for the unexpected to happen — and at Damanhur, the unexpected is often the most significant.
Your guide knows when not to speak. The temples deserve moments of silence. Private tours create the conditions for genuine stillness — no waiting for a group to reassemble, no background chatter.
All private tours are available for individuals, couples, families, and small private parties (up to 6 for a single guide; larger groups become small private group tours).
The essential private experience. Dedicated senior guide, 2–3 temple halls, Q&A at your pace. Enough time to go deep into the visual and historical richness of Damanhur without rushing.
The complete private Damanhur day. All major temple halls, Sacred Woods guided walk, lunch with a community member, optional Selfica workshop or art studio time.
An immersive private programme designed entirely around your intentions. Stay on-site, eat community meals, attend programme sessions, and have extended private time with your dedicated guide across multiple days.
Private tours can be combined with any of these elements — discuss during the pre-visit dialogue to design your ideal visit.
The reflective hall of self-knowledge — hundreds of mirrors, sacred symbols, and optical illusion
The most visually astonishing hall — a curved ceiling of painted spheres representing the universe's forces
Carved directly from stone, this hall embodies the element of earth in every surface texture and colour
The living forest laboratory — plant music, sacred geometry installations, and the community's ecological vision
An introduction to Damanhur's science of spirals and subtle energies — see and touch working Selfic instruments
Organic communal meal eaten with your guide and community members — the informal conversation is often transformative
Where community artists work on the ongoing creation of temple art — the work is never finished
Extended conversation about Damanhurian thought, cosmology, and practice — for those seeking intellectual depth
Private tours at Damanhur are led by senior community guides — long-term Citizens with deep knowledge of the temples, the philosophy, and the community's fifty-year history.
Senior guides are Citizens who have dedicated decades to the community and have comprehensive knowledge of the temple construction, symbolic systems, community governance, and philosophical foundations. They speak personally from lived experience — not from a script.
When a visitor has a specific area of interest — sacred geometry, the Selfic science, the temple's ecological philosophy, or the governance model — we match them with the guide whose own life's work touches that area most closely.
Some of Damanhur's guides were present for the temple's construction — they physically helped carve the halls. The chance to hear the story of the underground temples from someone who built them is not available anywhere else in the world.
Damanhur's international community means guides are available in multiple languages. The following are typically available without extended advance notice:
For languages not listed, external interpretation can sometimes be arranged with extended advance notice. Contact the Welcome Office to discuss.
Private tour pricing depends on format, duration, number of participants, language requirements, and any additional elements included. Half-day tours for 1–2 people start from approximately €200. Full-day tours from approximately €380. Multi-day programmes are quoted individually.
These are indicative figures — the Welcome Office provides an exact quote during the pre-visit dialogue. Prices per person decrease as the number of participants increases, up to the private guide maximum of 6 people.

"Our guide spent forty minutes with us in the Hall of Spheres alone — because we couldn't leave. He just let us be there, and talked when we asked and was silent when we needed silence. I have never been guided anywhere with that quality of presence."J. and M. ThorntonPrivate tour visitors, 2024 · United Kingdom
"I came as a researcher in comparative religious studies. The private format gave me genuine access to the philosophical depth I needed — not the tourist version, the real thing. My guide has been in the community for 22 years. There is no substitute for that kind of knowledge."Dr. Amara DialloVisiting scholar, private tour 2023 · France
"We brought our two teenage daughters on a private tour, worried they wouldn't connect with it. They stood in the Hall of Mirrors for half an hour. They asked more questions than we did. The guide met them exactly where they were. We are planning to return as a family."The Bergström FamilyPrivate tour 2025 · Sweden
