The Mystery School is not a weekend retreat. It is a twelve-month programme combining in-person residency at Damanhur with online study and live monthly sessions — the most complete inner education the Academy offers.

Your Three Residencies at Damanhur
Each residential intensive takes place at Damanhur and is designed to provide the depth of immersion that online learning cannot replicate.
Foundation: Opening the Inner Compass
The first residency establishes the foundations of the Damanhurian worldview and introduces all eight schools. Students meet their teachers, begin their dream research practice, learn the first symbols of the Sacred Language, and undertake their initial inner journeys under guidance. The week culminates in a ceremonial opening of the year.
Depth: Into the Dimensions
The second residency dives deep into the disciplines in which each student has concentrated their online study. Includes advanced meditation work, Sacred Language composition, and initial work on the student's personal Selfic object with the Selfic design teachers. A night visit to the Temples is included for all Mystery School students.
Integration: Becoming the Practice
The final residency is about consolidation and commitment — integrating a year of learning into a coherent personal practice. Students present their Selfic creation, share their year of dream research findings in a group review, and participate in the Academy graduation ceremony. Alumni of the Mystery School join from across the world for the closing days.

Move beyond reading the Sacred Language to composing original works — a profound and demanding practice that deepens the previous schools.

Participation in community ceremony through music — learning both instrument work and sacred vocal practices used in Damanhurian ritual.

For Students Outside Italy
The Mystery School has been deliberately designed to be accessible to students anywhere in the world. The three residencies are concentrated into week-long intensives so the travel requirement is manageable. All online content is available in English.
The Academy can provide guidance on accommodation logistics for each residency, including shared student housing at Damanhur's guest facilities at reduced rates.
Who the Mystery School Is For
This is not a beginner's programme. We ask applicants to bring some prior spiritual practice and a genuine commitment to sustained inner work.

The Selection Process
The Mystery School accepts a small cohort each year — typically 12–18 students. Selection involves a written application, a 30-minute video conversation with an Academy teacher, and a review period of approximately 2 weeks.
We are not selective in the sense of being exclusive. We are selective because the programme works best when all participants are genuinely ready for it. If you are not accepted for the current year, we will suggest specific preparatory courses that will strengthen your application for the following cycle.
Applications for the 2026–27 cohort open 1 April 2026 and close 30 June 2026. The programme begins October 2026.
Programme Pricing
All residency accommodation and full-board meals at Damanhur are included. Travel to and from Damanhur is not included.
Scholarship support is available for applicants from lower-income economies. Please mention your situation in your application letter.

Mystery School graduates form an active global network. Many integrate what they have learned into existing professional lives — as therapists, artists, teachers, and healers. Frequently Asked Questions
Yes — though we recommend attending at least one short introductory course at Damanhur beforehand if your schedule allows. The first residency is designed to orient new arrivals, so prior experience with Damanhur is helpful but not required.
Yes. The Mystery School is conducted bilingually in Italian and English, with full translation provided. The online component and all WisdomLab resources assigned to Mystery School students are available in English.
Selfica is Damanhur's tradition of creating objects that function as concentrators and transmitters of subtle energy, based on precise geometric forms — especially spirals. Each Mystery School student's personal Selfic object is designed collaboratively with a Selfic teacher, built over three residencies, and encoded with the student's own inner research from the year. It is a genuinely unique object that cannot be duplicated.
Life happens. We assess each situation individually. In most cases, essential elements of a missed residency can be made up through intensive online sessions with teachers. Students who miss more than one full residency may be invited to continue in the following year's cohort rather than graduate with the current group — the integrity of the year-long arc matters.
